Over the past four years, Joel Gordon has been following the hair-raising journey of the play, 'Da Kink in My Hair for a feature documentary that will be completed in the fall of 2006.
The exciting growth of the show from a small local production into an international commercial hit is juxtaposed by Trey Anthony's tumultuous personal story and intimate interviews from cast members. The documentary is produced and directed by Joel Gordon, co-produced by Trey Anthony and the Executive Producer is Richard Nielsen of Norflicks Productions Ltd.
This emotional roller coaster ride follows the development of the play with footage from the New York International Fringe Festival, a run at Theatre Passe Muraille, a showcase at PSNBC in New York, a big budget run at The Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, and a special theatrical mounting in San Diego. While the women of 'Da Kink cry, clash, sing, share, laugh and perform, the audience experiences how a unique group of women dare to dream and then accomplish the impossible.
