Trey Anthony is a black queer activist, playwright, comedian and actor. She was born in England and currently resides in Toronto, Canada.

She wrote the hit play 'da Kink in my Hair, which played to sold-out audiences at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. 'Da Kink features an all black female cast and is rooted in issues central to black womyn's lives. 'Da Kink is about creating a new voice in theatre. And now, 'da Kink television series is currently in development for CBC television and Vision Television.

Trey is a former television producer for The Women's Television Network, WTN. She has produced many thought provoking series for the network, on issues such as white womyn raising black daughters, lesbian mothers coming out to

their children and womyn of colour battling eating disorders. trey is also the executive producer of the popular comedy festival, 'dat girl sho is funny! Canada's first Urban Womyn's comedy Festival which is an annual sold-out event staged at the St Lawrence Centre for the performing Arts. She is a former writer for CTV and the Comedy Network, and has also worked on the Chris Rock Show (HBO). She has been featured in newspapers such as The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Toronto Sun, and The Toronto Star, as well as in Now, Eye Weekly, Xtra, Share, and Pride magazines. She is currently working on her new play and screenplay.

In her spare time she enjoys pushing boundaries, questioning and redefining "the rules," and creating safe spaces for womyn. She tries to remain rooted in her truth.
